The Wednesday Sisters

On December 18, a Thursday, I hosted book club at my house. It was fun to have people here. Must do that more!

We had read "The Wednesday Sisters," a book about a group of women who become friends at a neighborhood park and discover their common love of books and interest in writing. They support each other in their writing and give criticism and praise for each other, and learn more about each other through the years. The book is set on the day of Bobby Kennedy's assassination and onward and all the women have professional husbands who brought them to San Fransisco away from families. They are doctors and computer geeks. Their husbands have affairs, make millions on Intel, and are exotic; the women face childlessness, cancer and have quirky personalities. It wasn't a great book and I wondered how my mom would like the book. Is it more of her era? So I gave it to her and haven't heard yet what she thinks.
Happy New Year!
